How are the beaches and climate in Israel during the summer?

I might have a chance to tag along with some friends sometime in the next couple years for a visit to Israel. Their family is mostly conservative Judaism thought a few of us aren’t religious so I’m wondering if I don’t see any value in visiting certain sites for faith reasons would I still enjoy the beaches and nightlife around Israel, especially Haifa?

Israel is by far one of the best beach cultures in the world. Okay, it’s not tropical beaches, but it’s its definitely Mediterrenean in nature. From Hof (Hof means beach in Hebrew) Zikim in the South to Hof Achziv in the North and everything in the middle.

For those people watchers, Tel Aviv is the best bet. All the beaches in Tel Aviv offer all the amenities one would ever want while on vacation. Every beach has a cafe with seats right in the sand. You can also order food and coctails while your legs are embedded in the fine sand. There are even beaches for Gays, dog lovers (both share the same beach), and those seeking rocky cliffs as backdrops.

One of the best way to discover which beach you like best is to stroll along the Tayelet (promenade in Hebrew) from the old port of Tel Aviv to Jaffa/Yafo. In between there are over ten beaches to choose from. The newly renovated are of the old port of Tel Aviv is a great place to grab a bite to eat or have a Cafe Hafuch (Cappuchino but with coffee poured over steam milk).

One truly Israeli experience is to play Matkot on the beach. Matkot is two paddles with a small rubber ball. The object of the game is to simply hit the ball back and forth. You will see Israelis playing this game and yelling at each other. Of course, the beaches have every activity other beaches have such as surfing, windsurfing, chess, beach volleyball, and soccer.

Haifa beaches

The sea wraps around three sides of Haifa with intoxication blue ad gold beaches. You can schedule you whole day around the sea. Begin with a morning run along the promenade at Bat Galim or on the sands of Carmel Beach. Afterwards, relax with breakfast at a cafe overlooking the sea. In the afternoon, take a dip at one of the well-tended municipal beaches, or set out for windsurfing on the smooth waters of the bay.

If scuba diving’s your thing, you’ll take great interest in exploring the area’s underwater archaeological sites. Wind up the day with a romantic sunset, cooled by a cocktail or a slice of watermelon at one of the many restaurants along the beaches.

You can see also the city slopes from the sea they face. Boats leave he Kishon port for a cruise around the busy harbor, affording a perspective of Haifa and the Carmel no less marvelous than the view from the mountain’s top.
